A bespoke ceremony with Pamela
Every Pilgrim Corner ceremony stay includes a celebrant-led ceremony by Pamela Woodford.
Pamela creates warm, personal ceremonies tailored to each couple, whether that means writing your own vows, including readings from family and friends, renewing promises you made years ago or weaving in traditions that matter to you.
Ceremonies can take place inside the cottage or in the garden, depending on the weather and your plans for the day. For couples drawn to symbolic rituals, Pamela can also incorporate elements such as handfasting and Celtic-inspired ceremony traditions into a bespoke celebration.
Simple house styling for atmosphere
We prepare Pilgrim Corner for the occasion with thoughtful decorative touches to make your celebration feel special, while keeping the cottage's character front and centre.
Depending on your plans, this may include candles, sconces, linens, vintage crockery, platters, vases and simple styling in the house and garden. If you would like to celebrate outdoors, the garden arch can also be used as part of the setting.
This is not a full planning or styling service, but it does mean your celebration feels very different from an ordinary cottage stay.
Your celebration, your way
Pilgrim Corner is ideal for couples who want the setting, ceremony and atmosphere taken care of, while keeping the rest of the celebration personal and flexible.
Some couples keep things wonderfully simple. Others add flowers, photography, hair and make-up, a private chef, celebratory dining or a cake for the weekend. We are very happy to recommend trusted local suppliers if you would like a few extra touches, but beyond the package itself, the details of the celebration are yours to shape in your own style.
A note on legal weddings
Pilgrim Corner is not licensed for legal marriage ceremonies. Most couples getting married complete the legal formalities separately and then celebrate with a far more personal celebrant-led ceremony here with their family and friends.
For many couples, that is part of the appeal: the paperwork is taken care of elsewhere, leaving space for a ceremony that feels much more meaningful, personal and memorable. Vow renewals, handfastings and other Celtic-inspired symbolic ceremonies can, of course, take place here without any separate legal process.
